New Shed for the Aim Up Charity Cheltenham

Men in Sheds Cheltenham & Gloucester have been able to assist the Aim Up charity by supplying and installing a shed for them. Our thanks goes to our Gloucester members for a job well done.

Shed for Aim Up

Men in Sheds Cheltenham & Gloucester appreciate the kind private donation of the shed to further our support for our local community .

Bird Box Making with the Scouts

Volunteers gave up their two Friday evenings to give two groups of local scouts the opportunity to build their own bird boxes.

Both evenings were thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Thank you to all our volunteers and Steff for organising.

Hatherley Park Wendy House/Shop

Cheltenham Borough Council removed the old Wendy House (often referred to as the shop) from Hatherley Park in the summer, due to its age and deteriorating condition and delivered it to the Unit 2 Shed to be deconstructed and rebuilt from new materials.

A small team has been working to rebuild the structure using new materials and utilising the old pieces as templates.

The project nears completion.

With the help of Cheltenham Borough Council and The Friends of Hatherley Park the completed Wendy House was installed.

Guitars

Warren and Graham from the BFG shed built a guitar from pallet wood and more recently refurbished another guitar. Both guitars were then sound checked and signed by the band Del Amitri. The two guitars have then gone on to help raise £1000 for Sue Ryder and £500 for Parkinson.

Tewkesbury Road Community Garden

Men in Sheds have undertaken to build a covered shelter for the Tewkesbury Road Community Garden.

Initial work has now started with clearing the site ready, taking delivery of the timber and construction of the first half of the base is under way.

Roof supports and flooring underway.

Flooring completed with ramp access. Uprights and roof supports braced and roofing now on. Water butt stand and water butt ready to receive rainwater.

Well done to all involved!

Bettridge School Cabin – Day 2

Once again we were fortunate with fine weather. Main tasks for the day were to get the roof boards on, door and window furniture fixed and hope the insulation for floor & roof would arrive (but unfortunately delayed).

Time to let Rod out!

End of Day 2, Watertight and secure

We will complete the roof and flooring at a mutually agreeable time, once the insulation and OSB sheeting is available from the supplier.
